What does the KP bracelet mean to you?

Over the next few weeks I will be posting some stories about the Walking for KPeasey and what they mean to different people in my life. I would like to personally thank all of our sponsors for their continued support. Evan and Brent will be back on the blog later this week. So enjoy!

"I have worn the blue bracelet for the last two years. The bracelet means a lot to me because it is a way that I can show homage to one of the strongest individuals I have ever met. Kyle Pease has every reason to be angry. This life has thrown him hardships that you and I will never know. Instead of wallowing in self pity he is trying to makea difference in his community and in people's lives. His very presence inspires everyone he meets. Kyle is a fierce friend, whether you need someone to talk with or just have a beer and watch the game. If he has to ride the bus to take his chair, Kyle will go through sleet and snow to be there for a friend. The bracelet reminds and inspires me to be a better friend and husband. It reminds us that no matter how big our problems are there are people in this world that are worse off than we, and it is our job to help. Help can be many things. Sometimes time and friendship is all the help that is needed. The bracelet reminds me to thank God every day for the many blessings he has bestowed on me and my family. It also reminds me to pray for and help those less fortunate, whatever help they may need. I invite everyone to join us all as we walk for my man, K-Peasey."

One Month Down...

This is my first real blog so bear with me but I am hoping a little practice along the way, and some help from the man himself will help as the Kpeasey team blogs during the training.
So with one month down and with roughly three to go the "Walking with KPeasey" operation is in full effect.
We have been told this is the first attempt by three brothers to complete a triathlon of any distance.

Whether or not that is true does not matter to us Pease boys. We couldn't be more excited to get out on the road and attack our races. Tri-Kids continues to support us all the way through these first few weeks and we cannot thank them enough for the opportunity to take on the Georgia Half-Marathon and the St. Anthony's Tri this spring.
We have used these first few weeks to get a good base in for the month's ahead. Evan is running four times per week and has a companion to help him get through those cold morning runs.

I have been joining the Dynamo Multisport Crew (www.wearedynamo.com)several times a week for some spinning, swimming and some outdoor trail runs.

In the coming weeks we will be tying a bucket to my waist, some extra long rides in the cold and I might even run up and down some steep hills before it's all said and done...(Read more about the last hill run here www.haleychura.com)
The bike should be here soon enough from www.freedomconcepts.com and then we will get out on the road with Kyle for some much needed practice. Keep a look out in the near future for the whole "Walking With KPeasey team" out for some group runs and of course keep up with all the updates throughout the training.

I want to ride my bicycle...

What's up good people? Tonight was a very exciting night! Brent came over with one of our sponsors, Freedom Concepts Inc, to assist us with ordering the bike. I cannot wait to ride it and post photos. Thanks for everyone who was involved in making this process simple and easy going!

In other news, K.Peasey bracelets are in, so get them while they're hot! Please message Brent or Evan Pease via Twitter or Facebook for orders. Bracelets are $3 each. Please check the blog regularly as we are getting the ball rolling in high gear!

Team K.Peasey out!!

Walking with KPeasey 2011

Welcome to 2011, we hope everyone is having a great start to the new year. I wanted to get out this announcement to everyone about some exciting news for 2011. After some initial discussions with close friends, we have decided to kick off Kyle's newest venture with some races out on the open road (read more about Kyle on his website www.kylepease.org). With a tremendous THANKS to our title sponsor, Tri Kids, Inc., www.trikidsinc.org, we have entered Kyle in two races this spring. The first race will be the Georgia Publix 13.1 half marathon, http://georgiamarathon.com/ He will be racing with his twin brother, Evan, and accompanied by myself on March 20, 2011. We would love all the support we can get so please consider either signing up to join us on the journey or coming out in support on race day.

The second race we have entered Kyle in is the St. Anthony's Olympic Triathlon http://www.satriathlon.com/ on May 1, 2011. In this race, Kyle will be swimming and biking with myself and joined by Evan for the run portion. A special thanks to Dynamo, http://www.dynamomultisport.com, and Head Coach Matthew Rose, who will be helping Kyle and I prepare for this race. Freedom Concepts has signed on to help construct a custom bike that Kyle and I will use on race day http://www.freedomconcepts.com/. Lastly, we want to thank Witzlib Studio Fitness who has signed on to assist with some strength and core training in preparation for race day, http://www.witzlibfitnessstudio.com/.

We would love to have additional support while racing in St. Anthony's. If you can make it to St. Petersburg for the race, we will keep you posted on hotel locations. You can check the race website for hotel recommendations, but we will update those interested once a location is selected for the Kpeasey team. Keep an eye out for some event dates later this spring with KPeasey to help get the message out.

We will be updating training progress and race updates via facebook, twitter and Kyle's Blog. For more information, please follow:

Blog: http://kpeasey.blogspot.com/

Thanks for all the support along the way and we are really looking forward to some great, fun racing. Additionally, please help spread the word and forward this message around.

Regards,
Walking With KPeasey Team
